Huizhong (Tim) Xu

Graduate Student

I was born in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, China. I received my bachelors degree in Physics from Nanjing University, where my undergraduate research topic involved micromagnetic simulations of spintronic devices. As a physics graduate student in CMU, my research is focused on single-molecule biophysics studies of nucleic acid folding and molecular motors. I'm also interested in the optical tweezers instrumentation including improvement of resolution and incorporation of more functionality. In my available free time, I like to write mathematical codes.
