Health Professions Program The University's Health Professions Program can aid you in your pursuit of a medical career. While students from any division of the University can elect to complete courses required to be considered for admission to medical and other schools of health professions, Chemistry is a strongly recommended major. Students in the chemistry program at Carnegie Mellon obtain the in-depth background in subjects that are vital for successful careers in medicine or medical research (e.g. through M.D./Ph.D programs).
