That sounds like the correct approach. The first step is to figure out the approximate concentration of the acid. You can do this quickly by pouring in some base (5-10 ml at a time) and seeing when the pH jumps. This can be done by pouring between flasks. To get an accurate titration curve, you'll want to use a buret to add the base to the acid.
