Eligibility
This special program is available to CUNY students that have demonstrated noticeable scholarly ability, drive, and curiosity and meet the following criteria:
- CUNY-CSI student in the LSAMP program or any CUNY student in the Bridge-to-Doctorate program
- GPA of 3.2 or better
- United States citizens or permanent residents
- sophomore, junior or senior year at the time of application
Students with an expressed interest in pursuing advanced degrees in sciences, especially chemistry and biological sciences, will be given preference. Qualified minority students are particularly encouraged to apply. Contact us for more information about applying.

Financial Information
- $3,500 stipend from Carnegie Mellon will be provided for one LSAMP student. For this student, NY-LSAMP program will cover up to $2000 as a meal allowance and travel costs, as well as the cost of campus housing for the summer. Up to 10% of the meal allowance will be set aside for group meals and activities with the Summer Undergraduate Research Program.
- Bridge-to-Doctorate students will only have the costs of on-campus housing covered. They will not receive additional stipend from Carnegie Mellon.
