Carnegie Mellon Ranks Second in Organic Chemistry & Polymer Science

enlarged image of polymerCarnegie Mellon ranks second among high-impact U.S. universities in organic chemistry & polymer science for average citations per paper, according to University Science Indicators. University Science Indicators is based on publication and citation statistics of ISI®. University Science Indicators contains the number of ISI-indexed papers from each university and the number of times the papers were cited 1997 through 2001. According to this indicator, Carnegie Mellon's 170 papers had an average of 12.76 citations per paper. Others in the the top five were Caltech (16.34), University of Pittsburgh (10.53), MIT (8.87), and Harvard (8.68).
