Ellen Reichenbach Retires After 23 Years in the Department

Ellen Reichenbach, the Undergraduate Program Coordinator who has provided information and kind support to students for two generations of Chemistry students, is retiring this February 8. The department will honor and thank her at a brunch reception on Tuesday, January 22 at 9:30 AM in Rangos 1 at the University Center. RSVP to Brenda Chambers at brendac@andrew.cmu.edu as soon as possible.

Ellen joined Carnegie Mellon in 1975 and moved to the Department of Chemistry in 1979. Her role in the Undergraduate Program Office in Doherty Hall has brought her in frequent contact with hundreds of chemistry students and TAs who remember her helpfulness and friendliness fondly. The Department will miss her warm presence in that office. Her plans are to continue to live in Pittsburgh and look into possibly breeding English bulldogs. If you want to contact her to wish her well in her retirement, you can email her at er0z@andrew.cmu.edu.
